Re: NVENC H.264 Codec Profiles Questions

Great - thank you for the very useful reply. In my testing, changing between quality settings of 80 to 100 made negligible difference in visual quality, but had a large effect on file size. I had been recording with Quality set to 100 but then moved it back to 80 after my testing. I'll now need to d...

NVENC H.264 Codec Profiles Questions

It's great to see the introduction of profiles for the NVENC H.264 codec. However, I found the help page for this (https://www.bandicam.com/support/tips/h264-profile/) to be a little lacking and have a few suggestions/questions: 1. The table showing Size, Quality and Speed highlights three different...

[Feature Request] Stopped Recording Message

I have two closely related feature requests as follows: 1. Recently while recording gaming footage my hard disk ran out space. Obviously Bandicam stopped recording and actually closed out the mp4 file such that what I had recorded could be watched (kudos to Bandicam). However, I received NO warning ...

Re: "Video - Quality" Setting : What exactly does it do?

I already read that article. What I am specifically asking is does the "Quality" setting simply set a VBR target average bitrate or does it do something else? In my testing, the average VBR bitrate does indeed drop as the Quality setting is reduced. I'm just wanting to know if that setting...

"Video - Quality" Setting : What exactly does it do?

Could someone from Bandicam please explain a little about what exactly the "Video - Quality" setting does. Is this something that simply adjusts the recorded video's bitrate or does it do something more or something else?

Thank You

Re: DOSBox Game Recording

After further investigation I found that the crackling was also apparent when recording DOSBox audio regardless of the recording software, e.g. Audacity, with the sole exception being audio recording using the actual DOSBox application itself. I also started to get crackling when playing back MIDI m...

Re: DOSBox Game Recording

Spoke too soon!!! I still have one issue. When I record the video cut scenes with Bandicam, the sound occasionally crackles. If I stop recording and play the cut scene then the sound is perfect. It definitely only occurs when Bandicam is recording.

Can anyone help?

Re: DOSBox Game Recording

Thank you - your answer made me focus on using the desktop recording mode and I eventually found a working setup. I had to change my desktop resolution to a 4:3 aspect ratio so that the "fullscreen" recording captured just the game. I also changed the render engine in DOSBox to "ddraw...

DOSBox Game Recording

I'm looking for some help with how best to record an old DOS game that I am running in DOSBox. The game itself has a resolution of 640x480, however there are introductory videos played at the beginning of the game and also cut scene videos played at intervals through the game which are in a much low...

Output Subfolder Suggestion

The addition of the option to output video and images automatically to different subfolders is a very welcome one - so thank you. However, one issue I found was in the Output tab, the one where you can Play, Edit, Upload or Delete your Bandicam creations. I would have expected the output folders for...

Re: Best Hardware Upgrade?

WOW!!!!!!! What kind of answer is that? As the developer's of this software, you are the ONLY ones who can answer my question and are the ONLY ones who have the technical understanding of the software to know where it makes demands on a PC the most. I find your answer not only totally unhelpful but ...

Best Hardware Upgrade?

I have been using Bandicam for some months now but feel that my system is struggling at times. Occasionally I will get fps and audio out of sync issues. I have a decent video card, an AMD R9 390, but am not using the AMP APP codec due to the fact that I am recording at 1440p60 which AMD APP does not...

Re: Game Mode FPS Issues - H264 (CPU)

I'm still curious to know where the bottleneck is in this recording process. Is it hardware or software related? Would a specific hardware upgrade solve the problem?

Re: Recorded Resolution Lower than Settings (AMD APP)

I contacted AMD regarding this and they confirmed that the 1080p max resolution is currently a limitation of their hardware design. AMD told me that support for hardware accelaration at higher resolutions "should become available on our RX 4xx series GPUs". I very much hope that Bandicam s...

Game Mode FPS Issues - H264 (CPU)

I am attempting to record an OpenGL game, in game mode, at 2560x1440 @ 60fps (CFR). I am recording to MP4, using the H264 (CPU) codec (VBR) and 100q. The issue I'm having is that my output only reaches around 50 to 53 fps. I have checked and found that my CPU and memory usage never exceed around 50%...

Re: Recorded Resolution Lower than Settings (AMD APP)

Thanks. I'm curious though, is this limitation one that Bandicam have control over and can possibly fix, or is it a limitation set by AMD and their codec? I'm suspecting the latter. If this is something that AMD need to fix then can you please recommend the best way to contact AMD regarding this. Or...

Recorded Resolution Lower than Settings (AMD APP)

So far, I have been successfully recording in MP4 format using the H264 (CPU) codec and screen capture. I had wanted to experiment with using the H264 (AMD APP) codec but every time I pressed record I would get the "Codec failed to initialize" error message. The same thing happened after I...

Re: Cutting Left of Screen Off

Great, unchecking "Use enhanced capture method (faster, Windows 8 or above)" resolves the problem.

So, does this mean that this is a known bug and one that I can hope will be resolved in the near future?

What am I losing by unchecking the above capture option?

Cutting Left of Screen Off

I am trying to record "Fullscreen" at 2560x1440p60 using the Screen Recording Mode but am having a major issue. When I record a video, 9 times out of 10, it will not capture the left of the screen. This is illustrated in the attachments. The screenshot (taken by Bandicam) shows the correct...

Very disappointed to see that this has not been resolved in the latest release, i.e. 3.2.1.1106.

Is there ANY timeline when this issue will be addressed?
