blue screen of death

Hi, I just downloaded and installed bandicam to test how it works and after screen-recording for sometime I got a blue screen of death while recording. I have windows 7 64 bits and don't know if maybe that's a bug or something related to the program because that had never happened to me before.

Thanks.

Can you post your computer specifications?

My laptop is HP: Intel Core 2, 500 GB Hard drive, 4GB mem, video card Nvidia.
I tried it again with no problem so far, don't know if maybe the problem was other thing or another program. Thanks anyway.

How long as it been since you last updated your video drivers?
Have you been keeping your system clean?
There might be a driver issue.
Also, take the time to do a memory test. You might have gotten a BSOD at that moment because your system tried to use a faulty memory cell on one of your RAM sticks. As long as that cell isn't used, you won't experience the problem.
Just an idea, but faulty memory sticks can cause a lot of damage, so it's worth it to test them.
If you have multiple RAM modules, test one at a time. Remove all of them, put one in, test it, move on to the other.

Hi kulem,
I got a blue screen of death while recording.
When do you exactly see the blue screen?

1. Do you see the blue screen when you click the "Record" button (or shortcut key)?
or
2. Do you see the blue screen while recording?

mm I've never updated drivers and never clean the system. It could be a problem of the system because sometimes it gets slow.

It only happend when I tried it the first time just after I installed it. I clicked the record button and after recording maybe 4 minutes I got the blue screen and the system crashed. Fortunately it haven't happened again but sometimes when I click the pause button and later want to resume recording the program doesn't respond and have to close it and open again.

Hi kulem,

Because of the way you describe your problem, I urge you to test your RAM modules.
A case of faulty modules often has symptoms that BSODs/freezing/lagging only happens under a certain load. (When the system wants to specifically use the bad memory cells.)

I have similar blue screen problem. Sometime the screen became "blue screen" suddenly and after "normal" again. but the recoding of bandicam is stopped. (bandicam tray icon keeps in red icon but the time indicator is not running after blue screen appeared.)

Hi jackpositive,

What is your recording target?
Which codec do you use?
Could you explain how to recreate your issue step by step?

Thank you.

1. Screen recording
2. H264 (NVIDIA NVENC)
3. The problem is occurred ramdomly, so I don't know how to repeat this problem. Sorry for that.
