Is there a way to record webcam and gameplay footage?

Thu Aug 29, 2013 3:57 am

Hi, I have looked around quite a few many web pages and I haven't found an answer. I don't want to just record webcam but I was wondering if it was possible to record the footage AND the webcam? If so how?

Oops, forgot to say I use Windows 8 and the latest version of Bandicam.

They haven't implemented any PiP function of Bandicam, except for watermark (PiP = Picture-in-Picture). I don't think they're going to either, the ones that want it are quite few. Although, they may consider adding it if more people request it.

Would you recommend any webcam recorders so I could use both programs?

Hi,

We will support the PiP/facecam function in the near future.

Thank you for suggesting!

Hello
For now I think you can use a utility which displays your webcam feed on a borderless topmost window.
I have been searching for one and found an open source program called topmostcamwindow.
I thought of letting interested people know about this. If you know similar utilities let us know.
Will wait for Bandicam to include this feature into their own recording software.
Thanks

Try Mirillis Action. It supports webcam recording even though it's a game recording soft. U could use it while we all wait for the next Bandicam.

As for myself, i'm waiting for the timer feature i mentioned before and file size display.

You record you web cam as a seperate stream, you then later put that web cam stream into the video your editing, in one corner for example, in whatever editing software your using, premier and sony vegas both do this.
You can also download freeware OBS broadcasting software which handles all of this and can also record your webcam stream, many youtuber use it , alternatively you can use xplit software aswell but that requires a subscription

I am wondering if you can support this when a game is running in full screen mode. The only way to make this work is by running the game in a window, where SLI or game performance may be impacted.

What I like about Bandicam is that I don't need to do any editing once recording is done. I just upload the raw file file as-is to Youtube since the size is very reasonable. I hope when they implement the webcam PiP feature, the webcam stream is automatically recorded and merged within the main video, and you can control if and where to position the webcam stream during gameplay, the same way you do with the FPS counter.

but the possibility to decide whether you want to have it in a seperate video track for editing purposes would be quite nice (like we currently have it with the secondary audio stream) when we're already at it.

Hello!

Please try the the webcam PiP function (Picture-in-Picture, Video-in-Video) of Bandicam.

The webcam stream is recorded and merged within the main video as shown below:

Hi there,

I just noticed today that bandicam had this feature, reading here in the forums. But when I went to the video settings in my Bandicam there is not any tab for web camera.

I have an USB camera that is recognised by any other program. So what am I doing wrong?

Thx in advance.

Edited: Forgive me, found it. Its a new feature, so downloaded the new version (it didnt notice me about that) and all sorted.
