CUDA Encoder & GeForce 340.43 Beta Driver

Sun Jul 06, 2014 11:50 pm

Few weeks ago I've enabled beta drivers again and yesterday I've noticed that Bandicam's CUDA encoding options has disappeared (NVENC still available, though). I've checked older versions of Bandicam, same result.
Will the compatibility with Beta drivers be fixed?

Hello!

NVIDIA has removed the nvcuvenc.dll file from the GeForce 340.43 beta driver.
(We have no idea why NVIDIA did that.)

* Some solutions.

1. You may contact the NVIDIA team to use the CUDA encoder.
http://www.nvidia.com/page/contact_information.html

2. Download the official GEFORCE DRIVER (337.88 ) from http://www.geforce.com/drivers

3.
If you use Windows 7/8 (64bit), download http://www.bandicam.com/img/forum/cuda_ ... _64bit.zip and copy&paste the nvcuvenc.dll file to the designated folder. (C:\Windows\System32\nvcuvenc.dll and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nvcuvenc.dll)

If you use Windows 7/8 (32bit), download http://www.bandicam.com/img/forum/cuda_ ... _32bit.zip and copy&paste the nvcuvenc.dll file to the designated folder. (C:\Windows\System32\nvcuvenc.dll)

CUDA video encoding has been discontinued beginning with R340.43 driver.
Applications which relied on CUDA video encoding will need to upgrade to NVENC or switch to software encoding.

I just wanted to pop back and say THANK YOU for providing ways to re-enable CUDA Recording (and CUDA Encoding in video editing applications), for those of us who do not have the ability to utilize NVENC yet, at this time.

I myself went with installing ('rolling-back to') the NVIDIA Official 337.88 WHQL Drivers. Thanks again!

Thank You,

Your comment clarified the statement on their site, regarding CUDA, which I found to be ambiguous at first.
NVIDIA doesn't support the CUDA H.264 encoder from the GeForce 340.43 beta driver
I incorrectly interpreted the 'from' as only those drivers, and not also future drivers.

So after reading Your above quoted comment, I re-read the instructions more carefully.
At first I assumed 32 bit .dlls went in in Win32, and 64 bit .dlls went in WOW64 folders.
And since it was not that important at the time, I gave up too easily.
Until later they were more important, for recording more GPU intensive games.

I include all these details in the Hopes it will help others, save time and difficulties.

Thank You,
