Recorded videos are stuttering (nVidia optimus)

Sat Jul 12, 2014 1:36 pm

Hi. I guess there are some issues with video recordings. I have laptop with Intel+nVidia videocards. I have tried to record some videos in games:
1. If I run game at nVidia.
a. If fps is high (100+), video is smooth (30/60).
b. If fps is a bit more than video recording (~35/~65 or capped 33/63) then video (30/60) is stuttering.

2. If I run game at Intel, video is smooth, even if fps is a bit worse (~50) than video recording (60).

I have tried every codec and setting.
I have tried to run Bandicam at nVidia.
I have tried to cap fps (30/60) at same as recording fps (30/60).
All drivers are the latest.
Sorry for bad english.
So there is problem with nVidia Optimus.
Thanks for answer.

Wow, Bandicam 1.8.9 hasn't such stuttering problems. There is a bit of lag still, but it's barely visible.
Bandicam 1.8.9 is ~95% of perfect smoothness.
Bandicams 1.9.2+ are lagging. I didn't test 1.9.0 and 1.9.1.

Can you please upload version 1.8.9 to a hostsite like Zippyshare? I would like to test it, because I have experienced it too on some very high demanding games. Thank you

Edit 2: You should test version 1.9.1! It's not affected, same result like from 1.8.1. But it's performance is much worse than in 1.9.2.

Edit: I have switched to my testsystem and tested with a few games. And oh no... you aren't alone. This isn't a Nvidia problem only (AMD user here). I have used the old version 1.8.1 and there is absolute no lag or dropped FPS in the video, but the performance while recording is a lot worse. I can confirm your experience with 1.9.2, and it's in 2.0.2 existent too, but not as intense. I have tested this with performance intense games, it looks like that if a game is CPU / GPU heavy up to a certain % area, the video will stutter.

For example there are a few tracks in Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed which are more performance intensive, where the recorded video has stuttery FPS in these areas. But on most tracks this isn't the case, I'm using the game with lowest graphic settings. But on high settings... the video is a lag disaster for me, but at least not as performance heavy as older versions.

Glad to see that it helps ^^ I really hope that this will be better in their newer versions. While I really like the program, I'm always worried to update because of new bugs.

Perfect smooth video

Bandicam 2.0.2, without cap:

Laggy

65 fps cap (by nVidia Inspector):

Hello!
If fps is a bit more than video recording (~35/~65 or capped 33/63) then video (30/60) is stuttering.
When you record a game which is shown 33~35 FPS, check "Set FPS Limit to 30 FPS while capturing", and choose "30" FPS at the video format settings.

When you record a game which is shown 63~65 FPS, check "Set FPS Limit to 60 FPS while capturing", and choose "60" FPS at the video format settings.

Hi, Bandisoft!
At my first post:
I have tried to cap fps (30/60) at same as recording fps (30/60).
Game runs smoothly with 60 fps cap, but video is stuttering, result:
