Feature request

Tue Jul 29, 2014 12:18 am

I have another suggestion for you, which I think is very useful:
There should be a key to restart the recording (Like the Auto-Stop recording function) which stops recording,saves the file and starts a new recording. This is useful if you have lags with long recordings, want to keep your recording you already made and some other reasons.
This function should not be avalable in Demo-Bandicam.

Hi Zuzu_Typ,

We may not add the feature because of some reasons...

Please use the 'Auto Complete Recording' function when you have to record for a long time.

Hello again, I now found some new good reasons to add a similar feature.
So, in some cases it would be very useful to be able to just delete the last recorded part, because there was a mistake or something.
It makes cleaning up the harddrive much easier.
This doesn't have to be a function that restarts the recording, it could also just delete the last part.
Don't know if this will be possible, but please,
if you add thid feature, you should also add something that ask you something like "Are you sure to delete the whole recorded material?".

I agree! This key would be good. My reason for wanting it is because I record long videos and sometimes something happens that I want to make note of that I can easily find later in my editor. Either an interesting moment, or perhaps a place I need to edit something out. I often just press stop and start again to achieve this clear delineation, but a better method would be one keystroke.

Could you please explain why you do not want to add this feature, because it probably takes just a few lines of code to add this function.

Code: Select all

Button restartRecording(window, text = language["RECORDING_BUTTON_RESTART"], row = 4, column = 1);
widgets.push_back(restartRecording);

void onClickRestartRecording() {
recordingSession.abort();
while (recording.isRunning()) {
wait(10);
}

recordingSession.begin();
}
At least that's what I'd expect, I might be wrong though.

Maybe you just don't want to add this but it would be useful for a bunch of reasons.

--EDIT--
I no longer see why the file should be saved before recording, because the main reason for this function would be to quickly restart a recording when the recording doesn't go along with your likes

Nevertheless I wish you a nice day and best regards,
--Zuzu_Typ--

We've forwarded your requests to the development team.

Thank you for suggesting it.
