NVENC and Sony video editor

Fri Sep 26, 2014 2:01 am

Hi,
I'm currently using Shadowplay most of the time, really good piece of software taking good advantage of the NVIDIA cards, BUT I'd really love to use Bandicam for the ability to record the micro sound in a separate layer.

So I downloaded the demo, made a test, was really satisfied UNTIL... well, until I tried to edit it with Sony Movie Studio Platinum. Codec error.

I've read the FAQ here and looked through the forum. I've read that :
http://www.bandicam.com/faqs/how_to_edi ... ing_video/
But it's not about NVENC.

I've also tried to install CUDA but it simply crashed my computer with a BSOD... (I have a GeForce GTX 660).
So back to the normal drivers and NVENC.

I'll gladly buy Bandicam if I find a way to have a NVENC recording (it makes a BIG difference in some games like Arma 3), a double layered sound and a compatibility with the Sony editor!!

Did I miss something?
Any idea?
Thanks.

Do you mean separate audio tracks?
You can enable that by using "Save audio tracks while recording", selecting Secondary Sound Device as your Mic and disabling "Two Sound Mixing".
You'll get a separate .avi with 2 .wav tracks.
And, of course, you should select your audio codec as PCM, 48KHz.

I had no problem to find how to record a separate audio track.

I did it. With PCM.

The problem is: the recorded file cannot be open in Sony Movie Studio Platinum.
I tried also without the double audio track. Same thing. The problem seems related to the NVENC codec. But maybe with a specific setting it could be compatible?

Try setting keyframe to 1 and/or changing FourCC.

Also, GameTipsAndMore will probably help you out, since he's into the expensive editing software and all.

Yep, thanks. In fact I've used the settings showed here:
http://www.bandicam.com/support/tips/sony-vegas/

So with keyframe interval = 1 and FourCC = X264
The only difference being the video codec, where I used NVENC.

And sadly, the resulting video is not recognised by Sony :/
