Bandifix hitting 2gb limit

I was recording something and the game froze so I had to force-end the recording. Unfortunately the video is about 3.2gbs and bandifix gives up at exactly the 2gb mark (I'm told 2gb is a limit for avi files or something idk). Is there a way around this limit? I'm missing about 24 mins or recording which is kind of an issue (hearthstone arena run). D:

Also can't split the file into smaller pieces to fix because vdub and other programs I tried to fix it with are just refusing to even open it, the bandifix footage is fine besides the fact that a third of it is missing. Any other software that could fix it would also help, I've tried divfix, virtualdub, formatfactory, vlc player, etc.

Oh? VD should be able to open it as I've dealt with broken .avis before (but it doesn't recover the entire file, not even half of it).
AVI doesn't really have a size limit, more of a time one. Bandifix usually recovers 90% of the broken footage.
Not sure why in your case it only goes up to 2 gigs.

It does open but only as far as 18 mins which I'm guessing is where the file starts having problems and the programs just give up because compressing it with formatfactory or playing it in vlc player only gets me that far as well.

Bandifix so far is the only software that actually seems to be able to fix the corrupt data and make it past that point (over 30 mins) and but it seems to give up the instant it hits 2gbs ):

You could try these two programs also :

If it is a header issue, you could try manually repairing it
