Codec failed to initialize

Problem: The codecs MPEG-1,Xvid, and H.264 all say "codec failed to initialize" When I attempt to record Skyrim.
Bandicam settings: 60 fps, full size, 100 quality
PCM
48.0 KHz
Stereo

Bandicam Version: 2.1.2.740

Computer Specs:
Windows 8.1 64 bit
GeForce GTX 760 with driver 347.52 WHQL

Note: This error only occurs while recording with the directx/opengl window
I can record Minecraft, so the problem may only be Skyrim

1. Click the Reset button under the General tab of Bandicam, and try it again.



2. Can you record your computer screen with the 'Rectangle on a screen' mode of Bandicam?

If you can record your computer screen, it might be a problem with your graphics card driver.

Please uninstall your graphics card driver (Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers), and then download the latest Nvidia video card driver from http://www.geforce.com/drivers

"This error only occurs while recording with the directx/opengl window" Therefore, it does not occur with rectangle on a screen. I also uninstalled and did a clean install of the latest Nvidia graphics driver (347.52). The problem is still occurring.

You don't have problem with graphic card driver. There is problem with Bandicam. I tell them the same issue they tell me to reinstall windows (LOL!!!!).

100% way to test if it is Bandicam or your driver:

Download Mirillis Action!. When Bandicam does not work close bandicam, keep game open, open mirillis action!, and record your game.

If your game is:
1) Displaying video = your video card driver ok
2) Recording fine with other program = your video card driver ok


I think they have intern noob in charge of support, so don't mind him too much when he blames your driver. There is problem with Bandicam, it is fact, only the blind will not see it.

When I try to record Skyrim with the "DirectX/OpenGL window" setting, Bandicam throws the error "Failed to initialize codec". It does not matter what settings or codec I use, this problem always occurs.

Mirillis Action! works flawlessly, so this is certainly a problem with Bandicam.

1. Do you have the problem when you play the game in windowed mode?

2. Please uninstall your graphics card driver, and download/install the latest Nvidia graphics card driver from http://www.geforce.com/drivers, and then try it again.

3. If we can't reproduce the problem, we can't fix the problem.

I know it is not a problem with my drivers because a) I have the latest drivers and b) I can record with Mirillis Action.
If it IS a problem with my drivers, then Bandicam should be providing compatibility because they are the latest stable drivers (All the most recent drivers are considered stable).
No the problem does not occur in windowed mode.
