How to fix/encode videos w/ corrupted MPEG-1 L2 sound issue?

Wed Nov 30, 2011 12:15 pm

Hi.

I have been recording many hours of game but now I find out that the audio is corrupt after video editing/encoding. Also, with some (not all) of the recording the sound track doesnt even show up in video editing software.

I've just now changed the Bandicam audio setting to PCM, so future recordings wont have the same issue with bad sound or no sound track in editing software. But I want to be able to fix the sound issue with all the videos I recorded before.

When I play the files in VLC Media Player the sound is good, no problems at all. But when I encode the files using Adobe Media Encoder or Magic Movie Edit Pro, the sound is corrupted - it is a distorted squealing noise. I've also tried encoding the files as audio only (AAC and MP3) but the audio only files also have the same bad sound issue.

So I need to convert the files to a different sort of audio/video format. I need to fix the files so when I edit them the video I make will have good sound. Please tell me what settings I should use for re-encoding my old Bandicam recordings to fix the sound issue. Thanks.

here's an idea, open the video in the VLC player, and have Audacity record audio while the player plays, that way you can clone the audio file without audio corruption.

but yea, just for future reference, always Record PCM (PCM = Uncompressed audio pretty much)
hope that helps
