Tue Nov 03, 2015 8:29 pm

Hello Bandisoft.

Your new Version download (from bandisoft site) contains a virus.

Namely it contains "TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen3 (Cloud)"...

False-positive on 1 out of 53 different virus scans. It is safe. Make sure you download from Bandicam itself and nowhere else.

Hello DrWolfsherz!

The official version of Bandicam (http://www.bandicam.com/downloads/) is safe and doesn't have any viruses.
The false positive can happen because some parts of the Bandicam source code are virtualized to protect against reverse engineering and cracking.

Please let us know the name of your anti-virus.
We will contact the development team.

Hey, thanks for your replies!

I am using Avira Antivirus Pro. And currently, after downloading the installer again from the same site as before, no warning shows up. So either Avira updated definitions or the file on the server has changed since my last download.

Please see the message for Bandicam 2.4.1 from the Avira team.
The file 'bdcamsetup.exe/bdcam.exe' has been determined to be 'FALSE POSITIVE'.
In particular this means that this file is not malicious but a false alarm. Detection will be removed from our virus definition file (VDF) with one of the next updates.
The false positive of Avira is already reflected on virustotal.com

Thank you for your feedback.
