Bandicam's Captured Footage Playback is very Choppy

Mon Feb 20, 2012 12:10 pm

When I record footage with Bandicam my frame rates are in between 30-60, which is smooth as far as I'm concerned, but when I playback the captured footage via VLC Media Player and/or Windows Media Player, the footage is choppy at best. It looks pretty bad, especially for a program that I paid about $40 for. When I playback the footage that I have captured with fraps, it is very smooth. Not the least bit choppy. Also I wanted to point out that I don't have fraps installed on my PC at this time either. I actually stopped using it and switched to Bandicam because it utilizes the cores on the CPU better and the compression is better than fraps as well. The choppy playback footage is not cool though and I would appreciate and help that you can offer.
Thank you.

Hello,

1. Please send your video file at bandicam@bandisoft.com
You may send the video file through the storage service below:
- Dropbox (2GB~): http://www.dropbox.com/
- The free account can upload up to 2GB or higher. (Files uploaded to Dropbox via the desktop application have no file size limit.)

2. It might be a codec problem.
1) Download GOM Media player.
2) Play the recorded video with GOM Media Player, and then press "Ctrl+F1" key on the keyboard.
3) Click "Copy to clipboard", and then paste it in this forum

I tried that media player and the playback is still choppy at best. The file(s) that you want me to send you are very large. They are around 12GB each so I have no idea how to compress them enough to upload them to you.

Hello,

Thank you for posting your playback information.
According to your playback information, you don't have any codec problem.

Your problem is related your computer CPU.
To record 1920 x 1080 video, you need a high-end computer.

As you know, Bandicam compresses video when recording, and Fraps doesn't compress the video when recording.
If you use "YV24 or RGB24" codec of Bandicam, you may have the similar result to the Fraps.
(But the recorded video size will be extremely bigger than MPEG1/Xvid codec like the Fraps)

Please see the FAQ below to reduce the problem.

I don't have a top of the line CPU but I don't have a crappy one either. I thought it would be able to record with Bandicam without choppy playback. It may be related to the game that I am trying to record. Maybe the partcular game is very CPU dependent. I was able to record other games and play them back without issue.
As you can see I don't have a low end computer.

Hello!

Your PC spec is good!
But the problem is related with the video size and compression codec.

When you record a 1080p video with Bandicam's compresses codec and it requires more CPU usage.
=> If the video size is small, Bandicam may use less CPU than Fraps.
=> However, if the video size is big (1080p), Bandicam may use more CPU than Fraps.

To reduce the lag, you should reduce the video size and resources of the game.

I am having the same problem; I am trying to capture a 1080p video on a PC with the following spec;
-GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING PRO 10GB Graphics Card
-AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8 Core AM4 CPU/Processor and RAM 1 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 3600MHz AMD Ryzen Tuned - DDR4 Memory Kit
It is running beautifully on screen but the captures are extremely jerky. Please advise if I am using incorrect settings.
