Huge file sizes

Tue Jul 26, 2016 2:22 pm

I went and did a test recording a match of Overwatch using the Youtube 1080p preset. The video is 6 minutes and 55 seconds long and the file size is 1.97gb. Why is it so huge for such a small amount of time? If I uploaded that it would take 54 minutes. I would expect a video of that length to only be something like 50mb. Any help please?

Hello!
I went and did a test recording a match of Overwatch using the Youtube 1080p preset.
Please choose the 'Default' settings of Bandicam and try it again.

To reduce the video size, change the Format settings of Bandicam.

You may try some options below:
- Video size: Half
- Video FPS: 15
- Video codec: H.264
- Video Quality: 50
....

Hello mattco86,

As long as you don't use the YV12 or the RGB24 codec the filesize shouldn't be that large.

If you want to upload the video to YouTube directly, I would recommend to use the MPEG-1 or H.264 codec.
Try both and look at the video and it's size to decide which to use.

Otherwise I would also change the quality and see when it is the right quality/size hybrid.

I hope I was able to help you,
