Video quality is bad

Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:28 pm

Trying to find the best quality to record some text heavy games.
Gaming mode doesn't record/detect the games (for example winSPMBT). So I have to use the desktop recording. I set a window around the game's window. It records but the quality is terrible. I have tried all the options, as far as I can tell, and at best the quality is barely ok. The graphics at best are approaching the game, but the text is very fuzzy.

For example,
this is with max settings at rgb24, which is the best I can get. The graphics are acceptable, but the text is quite bad.

Hello trusteft,

It is normal for you to get worse video quality when you use 'Screen Recording' mode compared to the 'Game Recording' mode.
Setting the video quality to 100 and using MPEG-1 video codec instead of XVID might help you get better video quality.

Thank you.

Ah, I didn't know there was a quality drop when using screen recording mode.
Thank you very much, this was very helpful.

This is still an issue, and I'm not sure if it's my websites DIY Spotlight or Joy in the Home.

I changed settings from 80 to 100 and it made no difference.
