Bandicam and Bandicut stopped working

Thu Jan 26, 2017 11:40 am

I was using these products (not free version) then they stopped working after I had just recorded with Bandicam. It's saying it's not compatible with Windows (I have 10)and I get an error message status 0xc0000020 about the file oledlg.dll. Need help - this wasn't cheap!

Hello RAV3N2020,

Since "oledlg.dll" is a Windows system file, we guess it is caused by your system itself or some programs other than Bandicam.

Please go to "Task Manager" and end all the suspicious programs as shown below:

You need to end tasks running in the background, too.

Please let us know your result.

Thank you.

The number of tasks running was daunting. I tried closing some but wasn't successful as it shut down my windows. It was working on my windows just fine earlier in the day of the post but then for some reason can't open now. Is it possible to get a refund?

Hello RAV3N2020,

Unfortunately, you can't get a refund since you registered the license.
As we said before, "oledlg.dll" is a Windows system file and we guess it is caused by your system itself or some programs other than Bandicam or Bandicut.
We cannot find any problems with Bandicam and Bandicut regarding your issue.
System restore might solve the issue.

Thank you.

Hey RAV3N2020,

I wouldn't recommend you to use a system restore point, because it is more than unlikely, that it was created far enough back for us to be useful.
Instead, here is how I would go about fixing the problem.
(based on the following article Windows 10 reparieren)

To be secure we don't screw things up (as this has happened to me when my system was broken, it was even more after fixing it), you should create a system restore point.
Press [Win]+[R] and type in the following:

Code: Select all

SystemPropertiesProtection.exe
and press [Enter].
In the newly opened window, you can configure and create system restore points.
I'm sure you will be able to do this yourself, if not, you may use the human's best friend Google.

Now for the fixing you should try to use Windows' own techniques for finding issues with the system.
In order to do so, open the command prompt as an administrator.
(can be done by pressing [Win]+[X] / rightclicking the Windows icon on the taskbar and selecting command prompt (administrator) or alternatively you can search for cmd.exe in the start menu by pressing [Win] and typing [C][M][D] and press [Ctrl]+[Shift] before leftclicking cmd.exe)

You may try all of the following commands (the lines starting with // are commentary)

Code: Select all

// search the registry for errors:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

// search for partition errors:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

// search for general errors:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

// if you get an error message 0x800f081f , it means that it can't find the necessary
// files that it tries to get from the net.
// Please advance to the next command in this case and make a post about it later.

// run the Windows system integrity test
sfc /scannow

// if sfc finds errors it can't fix on its own, leave a comment about it.
If this doesn't help, the next thing would be to do an inplace upgrade.
I have not yet done one of those on Windows 10, but I'm sure we'll be able to do this, if necessary.
Nonetheless it would be an effort to post every step here, so I would like to know if you even still have any problems at this point.

Have a nice day and best regards,
