Bandicam videos full screen on youtube?

Wed May 16, 2012 3:31 pm

I'm having trouble making the videos full screen on youtube. There's always 2 black screen on the side of the video after I upload it to youtube. I was wondering how do you make it full screen on youtube? The video is in 720HD but I can't get it to be full screen when watching the video on youtube.

Try adding 'yt:stretch=16:9' in the video tags.

I'll try help out,

It depends what you mean by 'fullscreen'. YouTube's flash player uses a 16:9 Aspect Ratio, while most games and monitors are played in 16:10 AR's. What that means is, if you are playing and recording at typical resolutions like 1650x1080, 1920x1200, and so on, when you upload it to YouTube, it will have small black bars on the sides, because YT's 16:9 AR is 'flatter' than the taller 16:10 monitor/game resolutions.

To match YouTube's AR (which is the same as DVDs, BluRays, etc) you can do a few things, such as in your video editor (if you edit it before uploading), crop/edit the video so that it is in a 1.778 AR (16:9). You could also play your game in a 16:9 ratio (like 1280x720, 1600x900, 1920x1080, etc) and record it that way. Then, you won't have to resize or crop/lose anything.

With Bandicam, you can play at any resolution you want and tell it to record at YouTube 720p with the Preset that is there too, even while you play at say 1920x1200. It will automatically be ready to upload, but playing at the resolution you are recording at and keeping them the same will always look better/keep more detail.

Hope that helps, good luck with it!

1920 × 1200 is a 16:10 resolution, where YT's player is 16:9.
How have you set up Bandicam to record at 720p? Have you set the height at 720? That won't make it record at 720p, but adjust the width to match the height, still at 16:10. This will create the black borders.
Could you, per chance, create a screenshot of your settings?

Nok,

I had the same issue when I started testing Bandicam playing my game at 1920x1200 and recording at Full Screen. Depending on what maximum resolution you want to upload/view on Youtube, I highly recommend setting your in-game resolution to the proper 16:9 aspect ratio - be it 1920x1080 or 1280x720. That way your don't have to resize in post before compression and maintain as high a quality on your videos as possible. You can resize after capture, but I think Youtube may have issues with recognizing videos that were re-sized in post and still end up displaying black bars. I have not tested this out so I could be wrong, but that's why I strongly suggest it's better to capture your videos at the resolution you want so you don't run into issues like that.

Good Luck.

I had this problem also and what I found the problem was at least in my case is that the video settings in bandicam were not set to my screen size. So try that. Look for your actual screen size of your laptop or monitor and on my bandicam there is a CUSTOM setting where I can type in 1366x768 for example. Then the black bars won't be there.

Now if that doesn't work in game you also may want to increase the resolution to a higher number.

Again, the problem is that 1920 × 1200 is a 16:10 resolution, where as Youtube uses the standard 16:9.
These two ratios were in a race for being a standard for quite some time when the whole widescreen business started for consumer monitors and TVs.

You either have to letterbox it (adding black bars, which YT does for itself as well, during transcoding/processing.) or resize it, resulting in stretched footage.
Always go for letterboxing as supposed to stretching.

If you set up your 16:10 monitor to run on a 16:9 resolution, you will record 16:9, but will visually see a stretched image whilst recording.
