Possible to record sound from 2 sound cards at once?

Tue Jul 24, 2018 8:45 am

Hello!

I'm very new to the product, and I was wondering if you have the ability to do something that's fairly specific to my setup.

I have 2 soundcards. Motherboard onboard sound, and a Xonar additional card. When playing games that involve a voice chat, I play the game sound through the main speakers via the Xonar card, but pipe voice through the onboard card to my headphones. This gives me a number of benefits, such as ensuring that people's voices are close to my ear and not overridden by game sound, but it means that when I record video I only get game sound and my own mic.

So, would it be possible to either record both sources at once and mix them (ideal), or use 2 instances of the software to record the devices separately and combine later?

Thanks!
