I recorded a small video and notice that the color becomes darker when viewed by different players.

I usually record video games so I didn't recognize the color difference until now.

After some googling, I found that the color is displayed correctly with `ffplay test2.avi -vf scale=in_range=mpeg`:

Does it mean that something went wrong in the encoding?

Hello eight04,

We've found that it might happen with MJPG codec.
We recommend you use a preset for YouTube when uploading a recorded video.

If you still have the issue, please let us know.

Thank you.

Is it possible to fix the MJPG codec? The tip said that MJPG is faster for old computers:

Youtube 720p setting:

BTW, how do I know which codec fit my computer? Is there a way to test the performance?

Hello eight04,

Thank you for getting back to us.
We recommend H264(Intel Quick Sync), too.
If you have a lagging problem with H264(Intel Quick Sync), you need to use MJPG.
However, please note that you cannot avoid the color issue in that case since YouTube will re-encode the MJPG video when you upload.

Thank you.

I got an initialization error when using Intel Quick Sync codec.
