How to record smooth 4K video

Fri Jan 24, 2020 7:32 pm

I can record my game smoothly 60fps in 2K resolution [2560x1440], however when I tried to record native 4K 60fps, the fps overlay show maximum only 56fps, sometimes 50fps and the result is not smooth, lagging everywhere
I tried to look task manager and my gpu and cpu is not in heavy load, average load is 70% on GPU and 30% on CPU
I tried lowering quality but still not smooth 60fps, is my pc spec not powerful enough?
how to record 4K 60fps smoothly?

my PC spec
CPU RYZEN R5 1600 six core
GPU NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
SSD Samsung 960 Evo
16GB ram 3200mhz
Windows 10 Latest build

my bandicam setting
MP4
Size: Full Size
FPS: 60 VFR
Codec: H264 NVIDIA NVENC VBR
Quality 100

Hi kezman,

Please choose the 'Prefer CFR' option and try it again.

You will get constant 60 FPS if your computer is good enough.

Thank you.

You may have to try a different video codec.
Source
...recording 4K NVENC doesn't produce a CFR video.
Note: NVENC * may not be able to handle encodings of 4K (3840x2160) @ 60 FPS, especially when the recording source is of high scene complexity, and/or the encoder is configured to operate in non-Intra mode.

* Depends on the GPU, at least with Bandicam.
Or try the encoder in Intra mode. (set "Format settings" -> "H.264 (NVIDIA® NVENC) Settings" -> "Other options": "Keyframe interval", to 1)

Also note: Bandicam 4.5.3.1608, capturing speed bottleneck in "Screen Recording Mode"
