Audio lost on recording

Wed Apr 15, 2020 8:45 am

I recorded five videos in a row. On my last video - an hour-long video - the audio was not recorded. I did not change a thing between all the recordings - the only difference I can see if that it is longer (one hour versus 5-15 minutes). In all cases, I was recording a rectangle on my screen (the same rectangle) and recording through a Sennheiser headset.

When I look at the video properties it says 195kbps 48 kHz, stereo - yet on the other four recordings it says 196kbps.

The file is big enough (169 MB, 57:55 long) that I suspect the sound is in there, but it does not play.

It will be difficult to re-record it...

Can I recover the audio? Why would this happen? It kind of makes you lose faith...

Hello JasonTranter,

It might be a problem with the codec or the playback software.
Please try VLC and POT media player to playback and check if there is the same issue.

Thank you.
