When recording and playing back with DivX I get the black screen on MPEG and MPEG-1 formats.
I can visually see the video on Xvid format and the quality is really good.

When im on Xvid format the playback is double speed, like its sped up.

And I am not able to get sound working at all.

Any suggestion?

=> It's not a format problem; you should start Bandicam before the target

=> It might be your video player or codec problem.
=> If you send your video at bandicam@bandisoft.com, we can check your file and give a solution to you.

I believe I did start bandicam 1st, and while recording in MPEG and MPEG-1 formats I was getting the blackscreen, yet recording in Xvid I could see my video playback.

What player / codec package would you recommend if mine is not up to par?

Try VLC Media Player.
It is the best media player as far as I know.
