/edit [invalidated] I wasn't able to get it to work in any way. Since my Windows installation seemed to have other problems as well, I decided to do a clean installation of the operating system today at last. I have installed the 335.23 driver for my GTX 550 Ti (newer ones probably don't do anything for this older model), and I have the CUDA Video Encoder back. This issue does no longer need assistance, thank you.
Hello,
I wasn't aware that NVidia had removed the CUDA video encoder from drivers newer than 337.88, it's repeatedly given me some headache until I figured that out, and it continues to do so while trying to roll back unsuccessfully.
I have now installed the 337.88 drivers and the nvcuvenc.dll is present both in system32 and SysWOW64 on my Win7 Professional x64, yet I do not get the encoder option back in Bandicam. I used to have it, both on my old GTX260 and my current GTX 550 Ti.
I have tried to cleanly uninstall the drivers, reboot while preventing Windows from automatically installing the 353.xx drivers, and installed the 337.88 drivers that includes the nvcuvenc.dll files for 32 and 64 bit with no luck. I tried an older version of Bandicam (1.9.4.505) to no avail, and then updating to the latest (2.2.3.803) with the option missing.
My video editing and rendering software (Sony Vegas) also still does not seem to use CUDA assisted rendering either, which seems in-line with the unavailability as codec in Bandicam. It used to work but I never knew why it stopped (drivers update).
I was wondering if you, or users in the Bandicam community, would know anything I could try further? I REEEAAALLY want CUDA assisted video encoding to work again, really really badly. It greatly helps my CPU when capturing, and immensely speeds up my video rendering (.8 times video length vs ~3 times for CPU only).
Best Regards,
Daniel
