You're using XVID to record, which is using the CPU. Have you tried using nvidia's NVENC to record with H264 or HEVC? The performance should be much better.

Switch to MP4 output, and choose nvidia's NVENC and see if it helps.

And yes I agree, OBS kinda sucks when compared to Bandicam.

Yes, OBS does not cope with this game =) to say, no other program of capture does not want to record video from Forza.
I can't make friends with H264 and Vegas Pro, those settings I posted, it is now optimal for all the games that I record. So I will experiment with H264 in Forza Horizon 3

I also noticed that you set "quality" to 100, ie you want lossless?

You should look at the Bandicam FAQ for recording lossless videos.. If I remember right, they recommend using Motion-JPeg instead of Xvid.

The general opinion is that if you're using a lossy codec (like XVid) you should never put 100% quality. You should step down a little bit to maybe 90% or so.

The reason, if I remember, was that the codec would be spending time trying to compress something to get 100% quality and keep failing, it doesn't skip the compression portion.

Now I may be wrong about this, as it's been some years since I've read this. But if I wanted to record loss-less I would use a lossless codec.

Okay, I'll listen to your advice. There is no time to experiment, but I still want to try H264. I have not tried Motion-JPeg, as many articles do not recommend it for recording video from games. As for the quality, until I realized the difference in output almost see between 70 and 100, but not feel the increase in FPS, too, need to experiment.

Yes, indeed, with decreasing quality, decreasing the chance of FPS drops. And is optimal for Forza Horizon 3 turned out to be the H264 codec (NVENC), but in mp4. Per minute recording at 100% quality, caught only one small frieze.

Hello Dannnnybb,

Sorry for the late response.

Yes, we recommend the H264 codec(NVENC) in mp4.

You might want to try the other solutions on the linked page.

Thank you.

Thank you!
One question, what is the H264 codec (but) MP4 from H264 codec (but) AVI? Which is preferable? The difference I saw.

Hello Dannnnybb,

It is difficult for us to say which one is better because it might depend on how you would like to use the captured videos.

Thank you.
