Another sound problem

Fri Apr 06, 2012 11:44 pm

Hi,

I'm a teacher, and I set up bandicam on 9 computers this morning for my kids. They were filming in Minecraft. I checked, tested, and rechecked all of the settings and everything was fine. I watched them record and they were using the program correctly. I watched them, right in front of me, review their files to see that indeed they had video and sound. I copied the files onto my thumbdrive and tried to play them on another computer, running the same image of the same operating system, and the video is present, but the sound is not. The clip starts with some garbled squawks and chirps, then goes silent. I have my volume up very loud (using a 5.1 system w/ a subwoofer, so it's not that).

Has anyone else run into this problem? I hope the kids can still hear the files on their computers so they can piece them together into their movie, but my fear is that the sound is gone. I'm going to try a different movie player perhaps, or update the one I have, but it should be pretty recent. Any help is appreciated.

Update on the problem/issue:

I can't hear the sound when using Windows Media Player. I installed Quick Time and can't even see it on that one. It's asking to install a codec without indicating which one I should install.

HOWEVER, if I open the file in Live Moviemaker and preview the clip, the sound is there and it's perfect.

Thoughts?

Hello!
I copied the files onto my thumbdrive and tried to play them on another computer, running the same image of the same operating system, and the video is present, but the sound is not.
=> To play the recorded video on another computer, you need to install "Bandicam or Bandisoft MPEG-1 codec"
- Bandicam: http://www.bandicam.com/downloads/
- Bandisoft MPEG-1 decoder: http://www.bandicam.com/codec/

* Another solution
1. Use VLC Player.
This media player finds the proper codec automatically.

2. You can change the basic codec of Bandicam
- Basic codec: MPEG-1 video codec and MP2 audio codec
- Universial codec: XVID video codec and PCM audio codec
Image
=> XVID AND PCM are universion codec. So most editing software supports Xvid and PCM codec.
=> For more information about format settings of Bandicam, see http://www.bandicam.com/support/settings/video/#format
