Performance penalty when recording via hotkey

Tue Oct 15, 2013 2:03 am

I run a game in window mode and noticed that recording over Bandicam GUI (target record) gave me 3 fps better fps than recording using the hotkey. Is this difference expected? The problem is that when I run the game in full-screen I have to use the hotkey for recording and can't use the Bandicam GUI. It's a pity.

I tested with Quicksync.

Hi,

There is no difference between the 'Record' button and the hotkey.

It might be a problem with the window focus.
1. Click the 'Record' button of Bandicam.
2. And then click the game window.

You will get the same FPS as the hotkey.

It is the same indeed. What happend when I recorded over the Bandicam GUI the game stopped running properly. Bandicam records with a pretty low overhead nevertheless using Quicksync. Unfortunately Quicksync quality is extremely bad compared to Afterburner because of the TU7 and Baseline nonsense. 6 Mbps Quicksync video from Afterburner looks tremendous better than 30 Mbps Quicksync video from Bandicam.
