Problems with 60fps

Hi!

I'm trying to record gaming footage in 60fps. But everytime I look at the recorded Video, it seems like it isn't in 60fps. The Video is even Lagging a bit. Anyone have a Idea how to get it working normally?

Here is a demonstration video and my settings:

I also tried it with different Bitrates (15000, 3000, 80000)
While using 15000, the recording just didn't work. It was just like a picture and the Video was nearly not moving at all. 3000 let the Video lag even more and 80000 was the same as Quality 100.

Dear "ThePhantom123",
I am now beginning some sentences with "I think that..." because I don't actually now, if it is correct, what I am saying.

Du scheinst Deutsch zu sprechen, also werde ich diesen Post auf Deutsch machen, (if your not german please tell).

Also...
1. Öffne Bandicam.

2. Gehe auf den Video-Tab

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzBOU5t ... Tr8T0jz9rA

EDIT: Bild und Video sind jetzt aktualisiert

I would like to jump in into the discussion and I'm going to write my answer in English and German, I know how annoying it is if there is a discussion in an "unknown" language. At least you just need Google Translate for the original post :D

I have heard this setence a lot before, and that's nonsense. Of course there is a difference, and it's always going to be like that. But I'm not going to continue discussing about that.

That's true. However, it could influence the performance, dependent on the power of the PC.

I agree absolutely with this, I would recommend this as well. Personally I'm leaving it at 80% quality.

Easy: Because he can do it! And because there is a visual difference. At fast games like Trackmania or Sonic Generations there is a very clear difference, and it's not deniable. I'm not recording with a higher setting than 30 FPS due to performance and disk space reasons, but of course I'm able to understand it very well why people would like to record with 60 FPS. Youtube has added support for it recently too.

Hey Phantom :)

My observation is that the problem very probably exists because Bandicam is a lot more optimized for Windows 8.1 and it has less performance on Windows 7 (but still a lot better than Fraps and co from my experience). I'm going to link my longer post here, which says everything what I would otherwise repeat here again: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2982&start=30 - If you have considered to upgrade to Windows 8.1, it may be worth it.

The usual advice is: Do you have updated your graphic drivers? Was it the same in previous versions of Bandicam? (Bandisoft is willing to send you old versions if you want to.) Do you have tried other codecs like the Lagarith one? http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html - But yeah, that wouldn't be so good since you are using the hardware accelerated encoding option.

You can test if it's a performance problem in Bandicam if you are going to record a test video with a free program called Open Broadcaster Software. If it's completely fine there, it's probably a performance problem in Bandicam, and it would be helpful to show Bandisoft some system informations. You can see a list of infos with the help of a tool linked here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6 (the bsa.exe)

I'll Start writing in English so More people Can help.

I actually already tried it with Open Broadcaster, and it seems like im getting nearly The Same Problem, but I also didn't really look into the settings. Just changed the normal stuff (1280x720, 60 fps). At the moment I can't give you my System Infos, as I am in school. I'll add that later. The only codecs I tried besides H.264 were Xvid and Motion-JPEG. MOTION-JPEG had problems eith the color, so I didn't really tried that much with it. I'll look in it again, and jf the quality is better, i'll look into Color Correction. I'll also try Lagarith later. And probably also a short test with YUV.

I already looked if my Graphic Drivers are outdated. They are the newest drivers besides the Beta Drivers.

Do you have an idea what Bitrate I should use? I don't know if it's doing that much of a difference.

Is there a difference if I record in .mp4 and .avi besides the Audio Codec?

Okay, it seems like Motion JPEG fixes my problem. The Total Bitrate is at 33194 kBit/s. How much do I need for YouTube so it doesn't affect the Quality? The Raw Data is nearly 8GB big, which I can't upload. With 12 Mbit/s, it would only be ~2GB.

If you want to get small files and have a nice quality I would suggest you to use the MPEG-1 codec, which I used before I used H.264. It has (or had [don't know how it is today]) a really small output while having great quality.
However I still don't even nearly understand why somebodey would choose 60 FPS instead of 30.
I mean 30 is just like 60 nice to watch and the file size is highly different... so... if you want a small output... why choosing 60 FPS then? But however...
As I already mentioned, you should turn the quality down a little bit, because it does affect your filesize much more than your quality.

What I would suggest you, is to use a Video Converter (if you do not already do). Video Converters help a LOT to minimize the filesize. There is one made by Bandisoft, named "Bandicut".
But in my opinion there are better converters at the momet, because Bandicut is not even nearly finished yet, so I would suggest you to use either "Bandicut" or "Freemake Video Converter", which are 100% Free, (but still, keep in mind to check, that you don't install adware besides the main programm).

Hope I could help you.

Best regards,

The "bare minimums":
For 720p = 6Mbps+
For 1080p = 8Mbps+
For 1440p = 10Mbps+
For 4K (or below) = 18Mbps+
Audio bitrate not included.
If the resolution is above any of non-4K ones then it's generally advised to upscale the video to closest higher one (1800p to 2160p, 960p to 1080p, etc).

Avoid many re-converts (quality loss on each re-encode).
The best solution is to upload high bitrate files with least re-converts (closer to raws).
I store my RAWs (100q NVENC) converted to 20Mbps H.264 (Medium Preset, High Profile) and anything that has high screen activity in 25Mbps+.

So MJPEG worked for you?

I have an issue with this coded in that the colours change as soon as I insert the video onto the timeline in PowerDirector.

The XVid Codec works well for me. I don't use the quality setting (0 to 100) but set the bitrate to constant, then the largest option, 100000 I believe and also very important to set the key interval to 1.

What is a bit odd is when I check the properties of a capture in VLC the frame rate is 60.0002 whereas with FRAPS it's 60. When you upload to YouTube and watch it there will be tiny skips in the Bandicam version. Not often but if you are a perfectionist and look for it you will see it.

I got a Bandicam capture here: http://youtu.be/hS7zO68zAyI
