Game mode rec works, Screen rec is crash no screenshot

Mon Feb 20, 2017 4:56 am

Hi,

Time to time this issue comes up with bandicam, that i use the very same settings not touching anything but i start up bandicam, it boots up fine, then i press the rec button on the app and i get a crash once the screen record mode is the one i'm willing to use. Browsing the forums pointed other users to take screenshot as a test, so did i, the bracket flashes yellow but no screenshot being made in the inteded folder i set up manually. When i press record on screen record i get a crash. Only if i use the game mode record it works.

Like i said the settings are intact, and it was working yesterday but now it is not. I believe i accidently closed the fullscreen bracket of Screen recording before i shut down bandicam the last time. Since then the record is no longer works.

I just updated to latest version, but the bug still remains.

Here is the event log recorded at the crash in the new version.

I updated bandicam at that crash and so the new version started the working until yesterday. Now it's crash only in screen rec mode.

Hi CandyBam,

Please uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver and Bandicam and then try recording again.
If you still have the same issue, please give us the below information.
1. Do you mean you can take a screenshot with Bandicam 3.3.2?
2. Please let us know your PC specs, your recording settings(video/audio format and settings), and your recording target.

We look forward to your reply.
Thank you.

Hi

This issue is happening for quite some time now (years), it doesnt matter which vga driver i use, and i installed a few since the first time this occured. I have even changed vga cards since (then 960, now 1070) and i can only fix this crash when i uninstall bandicam and reinstall again, in which case it starts to working again. I don't even have to restart the pc between uninstall and install.

When the crash happens the bdcam64.bin process is stuck, and continue to run in the background, so i manually kill that process too but it doesn't help either.

1. I can make screen shots, even screen recording, when bandicam works. When it doesnt, then both are unable to execute. Like i wrote it clearly

the bracket flashes yellow but no screenshot being made in the inteded folder i set up manually

2. My pc is a i7 4790, 16gb ram, 1070 gtx and not overclocked (except the vga that is factory oc)
Full size/30fps/H264NVENC/Q100, AAC/128/Stero/48K.

But as i also have explained this before i did not changed the settings, it just works then stops working again.
the settings are intact, and it was working yesterday but now it is not

- "and your recording target."
What do you mean by that? My target is various content, and i use the screen recording feature which records my desktop (as you may probably aware of it already) so it basically should not matter what targets i record with that.

The game mode recoding works, even if the screen rec is causing crash.

Again, i reinstalled bandicam and now it works. Dunno how long, but i have no intentions to break it again. I assume there must be some bogus information saved by bandicam, which only can be fixed with reinstalling the application.

Hi CandyBam,

Thank you for your reply.

We guess it might be a problem with anti-virus software.
Currently there is a Kaspersky user who reported to us that Bandicam works with no problem only when running the first, second, and third time after a clean install.
Please try recording again after closing your anti-virus software.
If it works, you need to add Bandicam to the whitelist.
Please let us know your result.

Thank you.

Hi,

I did ran the application numerous time, but i am unable to reproduce the crash just yet, so i can't see whether the antivirus have anything to do with this issue. I'm using eset nod, but either way i decided to add the bandicam folder to ignore, however i'm uncertain why should i do this. After all, it makes useless to run an antivirus if i just ignore applications with auto update features, right? That's a security concern.
