Hey guys, I bought Bandicam since it can use HEVC h265 but its not recording HDR content. h265 can definitely record HDR but it seems that Bandicam is not allowing it too? The recordings are SDR only even though I have the HEVC codec selected. Is there a way to work around this? My thanks in advance.

Hello axiomatic,

Unfortunately, HDR is not supported.
We have forwarded your request to the development team.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. You are super close to it functioning. You are only missing the RGB444-BT2020 spec. FYI that would put you first to market with a SW capture product that does HDR. So far the only other solution is the Elegato 4k60 Pro PCIe solution. You guys would undercut that product by a large price margin. Seems like good business move to me?

HDR support would be really awesome :)
As more cards now support it and more monitors come into a play.

If what, i`m talking more about hdr capture cards (avermedia/elgato 4k + hdr), not metadata from a games itself.

If you use shadowplay it will record HDR in HEVC, it's the only reason I installed shadowplay again. Sadly it seems to have issues now and again where it looses frames, it's the reason I stopped using Shadowplay but there is no other option for HDR. Here is a video I uploaded which also has the frames dropps. Even H.2164 used to do this. OBS and other doftware don't loose frames when recording. https://youtu.be/8yJpVEM4q-A
Make sure HDR is on in windows and select the 4K 60fps HDR version on the gear icon.
