Video screen capture, video colour is noticable bland/diff

recording my 4k screen, recording goes fine but on play back i noticve the colours are noticable dull, i dont see any colour settings to work with

It might be a problem with your media player.
Please play the recorded videos through VLC or POT media player.

If you're running a nvidia GPU, go into the settings, VIDEO -> ADJUST VIDEO COLOUR SETTINGS -> ADVANCED ---> WITH NVIDIA SETTINGS and make sure the dropdown box says FULL (0-255) instead of LIMITED (16-235). This should sort your dull colour playback issue.
