caching on the disk

Sun Jun 15, 2014 9:23 pm

what is the advantage of "caching on the disk"?
does that minimize the size / recording lag / recording speed / etc.?
when does it make sense to use it?
E.g.: Long recordings,
short recordings,
big window resolution,
small window resolution,
fast PC
slow PC,
etc.
I have another question:
where is the cache being saved?
am I able to change the direction?
I have a pretty small SSD as local harddisk "C:\"
so I would prefer saving on another drive... so...
Thank you for any answers!

Hello!

If you check the "Enable write caching on the disk" option, Bandicam caches the data in the memory while recording.
If you uncheck this option, Bandicam saves the data directly while recording

This option will be useful when you save the data to SD/USB memory drives, or slower network drives.
This option will not useful when you save the data to your local SSD/HDDs, or very fast network drives.

Couldn't you guys use this feature somehow for shadow play feautre? Record a buffer for predetermined amount of time to the System memory.

I wish you guys could add that. Like the replay feature in raptr.

We will consider it in the future.

Thank you for suggesting it.
